A rectangular channel has water flowing at a depth of 16 ft

A rectangular channel has water flowing at a depth of 1.6 ft with a corresponding specific energy of 1.736 ft. A step up on the channel bed resulte in the flow becoming critical. The critical depth is 1.29 ft and corresponding specific energy is 1.613 ft.

a) What is the height of the step up ((delta) z-critical)?

b)Show this transition on the speecific energy curve. Label E1, E2, y1, y2 and (delta)z-critical where 1 referrs to a location in the channel before the step up and 2 refers to a location after the step up.
