A proton with a kinetic energy of 3GeV is travelling in the synchrotron. Assume the synchlotron can be considered as a set of dipole magnets with a uniform magnetic field B arranged in a circular orbit (radius r = 100m).

(a) Calculate the magnetic field B using a relation p[GeV/c] = 0.3 q B[T] r[m].

Note that mass=0.94GeV/c2 and q=1 for the proton.

(b) Derive the above relation.
