A product containing 35% solids enters a direct contact heat exchanger at the rate of 25kg/hr and at 5 degrees C. Saturated steam (of 95% quality) at 115 degrees C serves as the heating medium. Two streams exit the heat exchanger. The first stream (containing 30% solids) exits the system at 15kg/hr and at 60 degrees C while the seconds stream enters an indirect contact cooler. Water enters the indirect contact cooler at 5kg/hr and at a temperature of 5 degrees C andf exits at 40 degrees C. If the product leaving the cooler exits at 10 degrees C, determine: A.
