A preserved core plug of 3463 porosity and a bulk volume of

A preserved core plug of 34.63% porosity and a bulk volume of 51.05 cm3 was used to carry out gas-oil and water-oil displacement experiment for determination of relative permeability. However, due to the preserved nature of the plug, the initial saturation of oil and water in the plug was unknown. Assuming that only oil and water are present in the core at initial conditions, you are required to determine their initial saturation if:

1) Gas flood resulted in an oil production of 6.9 cm3 and water production of 1.2 cm3.

2) After the completion of the gas flood, the core was re-saturated with crude oil to replace the gas.

3) After the oil flood, the core plug was subjected to a water flood that resulted in an oil production of 6.8 cm

4) Finally, the saturation of oil and water was found to be 40% and 60% respectively.
