A possible terrorist attack using chemical weapons

Reports have come in to your hospital about a possible terrorist attack using chemical weapons. A patient is brought in suffering from apparent exposure to nerve gas (which inhibits acetylcholinersterase, the enzyme which breaks down acetylcholine). The patient's muscles are flaccid and she is unable to move. Her body temperature is slightly below normal. You must decide whether or not to alert the Homeland Security as to whether or not an attack has occurred using nerve gas. What is your decision? Has an attack occurred? How have you interpreted the evidence to support your decision?
