A piezometer in a water-table aquifer is screened just

A piezometer in a water-table aquifer is screened just above a leaky confining layer and a piezometer in a semi-confined aquifer is screened just below the leaking confining layer. The water level in the water-table aquifer is 1.42 m below the ground surface and the water level in the other piezometer is 1.64 m below the ground surface. Using the bedrock as your elevation reference level, do the following:

a. What is the freshwater head in the piezometer in the water table aquifer?

b. What is the freshwater head in the piezometer in the semi-confined aquifer?

c. Which aquifer is losing water to the other one? Explain how you came to your conclusion.
