Question: A local authority operates a leisure centre for its citizens, offering a swimming pool, squash courts, badminton and other facilities on a single site. Last year the authority was concerned about the relatively low number of people using the facilities on a daily basis and as a result started to advertise the facilities more widely in the local media. Data was collected before the media campaign on the number of people using the facilities each day over an eight-week period. A similar data collection exercise has taken place after the campaign. The results are shown in Tables 3.19 and 3.20.
