A linear-phase FIR filter should be designed with the ideal magnitude response shown in Figure 1 which represents an narrow band-pass filter. The lower cutoff frequency, fL , is 2,000 Hz, and higher cutoff frequency, fH , is 3,600 Hz. Sampling frequency fS = 8,000 Hz.

I. Using the Fourier method, design a 15-tap filter to obtain noncausal impulse response h[n] for the desired response.

II. Compute a 15-sample Hamming window (noncausal) w[n] then apply the window to the filter.

III. Find the magnitude and the phase response of the filter as a function of normalized frequency, ohm.
