A leadership competency model is a performance standard or

A leadership competency model is a performance standard or description of the characteristics of a competence performance against which a managers' performance is measured, reviewed and evaluated (Asumeng, 2014). This model is also used to describe and identify the knowledge, skills and behaviors required to perform a particular role successfully while achieving the goals of the organization.

In utilizing the Great Eight Competency approach of David Bartram, please describe the relationship and known gaps between the model and a general leadership role. If there are any gaps, describe them; more so, if there are predictors showing that there is a relationship between the two variables write them out in detail.

Then correlate your findings with that of David McClelland, who identified the theory of needs approach.

Be sure to use APA format and cite your references.
