A gable-roof greenhouse in the caribbean

A gable-roof greenhouse in the caribbean (tropical climate, in which there were different media under investigation as potential substrates for a variety of greenhouse crops (tomatoes, sweet pepper, string bean). The media varied from inert to chemically active; perlite/ vermiculite to coco coir/ compost respectively. The nutrient delivery system consisted of a venturi pump, with an emitter capacity of 2L/hour. The grow bags were placed on blocks which were laid on black porous ground cover. (1) identify as many soil and water limitations as you can and one practical solution for each limitation identified.
2. Using an inert media such as perlite a producer notices tipburn on the young growing leaves of tomatoes plants. The plants are fertilized with a nutrient solution of pH 5.8 and EC 4.2 dS/m. Explain what is the cause of the tipburn and how it can be treated.
