A dry chemical is a powder that is composed of very small

A dry chemical is a powder that is composed of very small particles such as sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, urea-based potassium bicarbonate, and monoammonium phosphate which is the most corrosive of the dry chemical agents. It is also composed of particulate material that is supplemented by special treatment to provide resistance to packing, resistance to moisture absorption and the proper flow capabilities. Not only are dry chemicals easier to clean due to being less contaminative, they are the best fire extinguishing systems for any articles that involves dangerous, hazardous and quick-spreading fires. This is a bit of a difficult opinion to form when the issue of computer room fire safety is not specifically addressed in a lot of the national regulations. Although, NFPA 75 may be used in recognition with this type of environmental safety as it helps to address the fire threat to the property and its occupants, any interruptions that it may cause said building, and any economic loss due to the damage or complete loss of records and/or the financial value of the equipment. Another thing to consider is that although the chances of fire starting from the equipment is low since they do not use a lot of energy and the material within has little to no combustible material, that the numbers have also went up as it is becoming more and more critical/common to most businesses to have this type of equipment. A total flooding system technically means that a supply of dry chemical permanently connected to fixed piping, with fixed nozzles arranged to discharge dry chemical into an enclosed space or enclosure about the hazard. This kind of system, in my opinion should only be used where there is a permanent enclosure about the hazard that is adequate to enable the required concentration to be built up. The leakage of dry chemical from the protected space shall be minimized since the effectiveness of the flooding system depends upon obtaining an extinguishing concentration of dry chemical. In total flooding system, the rate of application shall be such that the design concentration in all parts of the enclosure shall be obtained within 30 seconds. Therefore, I would go ahead and say that due to the loss financial and critical loss that would ensue if records/equipment was lost, a more appropriate choice for fire suppression would be a Clean agent fire extinguisher system. This is used where wet or dry systems may be undesirable or unsuitable Sturzenbecker, M. J., Adams, B., & Burnside, E. (Eds.). (2012) a clean agent is stored as a liquid, when the agent is exposed to the atmosphere, it turns into a gas. References, Sturzenbecker, M. J., Adams, B., & Burnside, E. (Eds.). (2012).
