A clinical trial study is done to evaluate joint pain

A clinical trial study is done to evaluate joint pain relief. Three different types of pain relief treatments are used. The mean time, in minutes, to pain relief in patients with osteoarthritis is evaluated in men and women. 30 men are randomly assigned to one of the three treatments and likewise 30 women are randomly assigned to one of the three treatments. Essentially, we have two factors: men and women, each with three levels. The alternative hypothesis is that there will be a difference in the mean time to joint pain relief between the groups. The null hypothesis is that there is no significant difference in mean time to joint pain relief in men. The second hypothesis is that there is no significant difference in mean time to joint paint relief in women. And the third null hypothesis is that there is no interaction between the male and female factors.
