A cannonball is shot from a boat thats initially moving at

A cannonball is shot from a boat that's initially moving at 3 m/s in the i direction and subsequently strikes the dock at 300 m/s. The cannonball's mass is 5 kg and the boat's mass is 300 kg. Assume that for all the time that the cannonball was being projected through the cannon's bore it was acted on by a constant force (due to the expanding gases) and that when it exited the cannon the force immediately went to zero. The cannon's bore is 1.5 m long. Find delta t, the time that the cannonball takes to travel through the cannon, as well as the final velocity of the boat.
