A brief description of the npo you selected and the issue

The ethical issues that NPOs encounter can be similar to those faced by any organization. Or, they can relate specifically to the unique characteristics of NPOs, such as their commitment to certain core values and their accountability to the recipients of services, donors, and volunteers. NPOs can utilize specific strategies to prevent or address ethical issues or dilemmas.

In this Discussion, you will consider an actual NPO that has encountered an ethical dilemma and explain how the issue could be resolved, or may have been prevented.

To prepare for this Discussion:

• Review this week's Learning Resources, focusing on how ethical conduct can be addressed in NPOs.

• Select an NPO that has encountered an ethical issue/dilemma. It may be an issue currently affecting them or one from the past that has not yet been resolved.

• Consider who in the organization would be responsible for addressing the issue or dilemma.

• Think about how the issue or dilemma could be resolved or could have been prevented.

With these thoughts in mind:

A brief description of the NPO you selected and the issue or dilemma it faces. Then explain who in the organization might address the issue or dilemma and how it could be resolved or could have been prevented.
