Question: A black male job candidate, aged 42, applied for an Assistant Manager's job in a retail store. He was not hired and he found that the company had hired two people: a white female, aged 47 and an Asian, aged 27 for the two positions. Informal inquiries showed that 8 applicants were over the age of 40. Additionally, of the 25 applicants, 15 were women and 10 were men; , 10 were African- Americans, 2 were Hispanics, and the race of others were unknown. He could not find out any other information from the company. He is contemplating a discrimination lawsuit.
