A 44-year old male patient was admitted for evaluation of melena. He has noticed melena occasionally for the past week. The initial impression was that this is bleeding from possible diverticulitis. The patient was scheduled for a colonoscopy. The colonoscopy identified the cause of the bleeding to be angiodysplasia of the asceding colon with diverticulosis of the ilium also presentm but without bleeding.
