1 what are the positive issues and concern on the above

Regarding the Amazon impact article, "America's Retailers Are closing Stores Faster Than Ever", it's easy to see the effect of the online giant on physical stores selling virtually the same thing, unless it's a high-end mall. (Rupp, Coleman-Lochner, Turner).

In Atlanta, many malls or other similar shopping centers have either closed or severely downsized because the competition with online retailers such as Amazon can't be matched.

There is a plaza on Memorial Drive, just east of Moreland Avenue that is deserted, and has been for more years than I can remember. Even the Dollar store that was there up to two years ago is gone.

Retailers are being forced to shift their thinking in order to survive in the age of e-business, whether it's food delivery, clothing, toys, pet grooming or buying stamps.

According to Terry Jones, "The massive online retailer [Amazon] has entered market after market and, using its enormous scale, a network of warehouses and ability to deliver goods virtually anywhere overnight, has cut costs and seized market share. And others, like Netflix, are doing the same thing in entertainment and other industries, bringing massive disruption."

To remain viable and successful in today's fast-changing and increasingly internet-based economy, it seems that the business owner or corporation must be willing to think outside of the box and apply up-to-date strategies regarding operations management and supply chains to give the people what they want in a timely and efficient manner through the internet, while not sacrificing quality or increasing cost, and covering the bottom line.
