It consists of a vertical driver and an output amplifier.

Construction

50Hz waves from vertical oscillator are delivered to the vertical driver Q. The outcome of it is coupled to the base of Qy A supply of +25V is applied to the collector of Q2 through VR, and to the base of Q3 through Rj R^ and R3. The base of Q2 is linked at the junction of R^ and Ry the emitters of Q2 and Q3 are coupled through R4 and R5. The collector of Q3 is being earthed. Capacitor Cl is located between the junction of R4 and R5 and Rt and R2. The output is come out from the junction of emitters is delivered to the vertical deflection coils.

Circuit Operation

50Hz saw tooth waves from the oscillator is amplified through Q and provided to the base of Q3 and also to the base of Q2 by R . Because biasing voltage is provided to Q2 and Q3 from +25 V supplies, throughout the trace period of saw tooth wave, Q2 forward biased and Q reverse biased. Thus, Q2 conducts and amplifies the trace of saw tooth wave.

Alternatively, Q3 turns off. Throughout retrace, Q3 forward biased when Q2 reverse biased. Thus, Q3 conducts and amplifies the retrace wave. Q2 turns off.

Because one transistor is pushed to conduction and at the same time other is pulled from conduction to off state, this kind of amplifier is termed as push pull type amplifier.

Amplified saw tooth wave are occupied from the function of emitters and delivered to the vertical deflection coils. Therefore vertical scanning occurs.

A feedback is occupied from the bottom of C2 to vertical oscillator. Vertical balancing pulses are also obtained from its output and delivered to the balancing amplifier.
