Introduction to Tape Recorder:
Tape recorder is a device that is employed to share the music in a ribbon winded in to small wheels. Thus, it is termed as a tape recorder. Music or songs that are Recorded are convert into electrical signal and stored in the ribbon (tape)
Recording Techniques
There are 7 main parts of the tape recorder:
1. Tape
2. Head
3. Motor
4. Amplifier
5. Micro phone
6. Loud speaker
7. Supply wire
1. Tape:
Tape is a rectangle shaped plastic box. It consists of two wheels. Tape is prepared by Zinc with iron that is used to record the music. Tape records are presented in C-60, C-90 size of cassettes.
2. Head:
As per to the tape recorders' speed, the sound signal is changed. This alteration of speed is converts in to electrical signal then provided onto an amplifier stage.
3. Motor:
It is employed to drive the two wheels that are winded with ribbons. The wheels are not directly connected to the motor through a belt. The motor is less power synchronous motor type or shaded pole motor.
4. Loud Speaker:
The electrical signal is converted in to sound signal by loud speaker
5. Micro Phone:
The sound signal is converted into electrical signal by microphone
6. Volume Control:
Volume control is employed to decrease or increase the sound. Volume control is a variable resister. Round carbon track containing micro plate that moving along the track. The distance among the carbon tracks changes the current. So the volume changed (increased or decreased).
7. Power Cord:
The voltages from the main power supply are supplied by power cord. In the card there are 3 colour wires are red, green and black. The meaning of those 3 wires is means that red is +ive, black is -ve and green is ground.
8. Amplifier:
Amplifier amplifies the weak signal into high level. That amplified output is provided in to the speaker.
There are 7 types of button available in the tape recorder:
1. Record
2. Playback
3. Re/wind (R.W)
4. Back/Forward (F.F)
5. Stop
6. Eject
7. Auto stop
A small motor that made through steel or plastic having low power speed. It is a shade pole motor or synchronous motor. A correct connection is made in front of the tape that is employed to record the music.
A button switch on the tape recorder forces the tape to move. A rectifier circuit is connected to the motor that provides a DC supply voltage.
Through giving the DC supply to the motor and open the cassette door by using eject button and put the tape in side. Switch the head button the tap starts to move along with help of motor. The head reads the tape and converts the sound signal in to electrical signal. This electrical signal is amplified through an amplifier and then provided to the speaker. Then the electrical signal is converted in to sound signal by Speaker.
Applications:
1. It is employed like a home appliance
2. We can enjoy the music's by using tape recorder
3. It requires only low voltage
4. Various shapes and kinds of cassettes are presented in the market at low prices.
