Contraceptive diaphragm is an artifact made of latex or plastic which when placed on vaginal fundus covers up the uterine cervix prohibiting the passage of sperm cells via the cervical canal. To be extra effective the diaphragm needs to be used mutually with spermicide. This method though does not avoid sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).
