TREE Topology: The tree topology joins the characteristics of the linear bus and the star topologies. It comprises of groups of star – configured workstations joined to a bus backbone cable.

Advantages:

• Removes network congestion.
• The network can be simply extended.
• Faulty nodes can simply be isolated from the rest of network.

Disadvantages:

• Utilizes large cable length.
• Needs a big amount of hardware components and therefore is costly.
• Installation and reconfiguration is much hard.
