The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (abbreviated as 3GPP) is a collaboration among groups of telecommunications associations, to build a globally applicable third-generation (3G) mobile phone system specification in the scope of International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 project of the International Telecommunication Union (abbreviated as ITU). 3GPP specifications are totally based on evolved Global System for Mobile Communications (abbreviated as GSM) specifications. The 3GPP standardization comprises Radio, Core Network and Service architecture.
