Sometimes, due to some disease, drugs or damage to the small intestine can also affect production of lactase enzyme which is sometimes temporary or permanently.If an individual has not taken lactose products for a long time period, the flora in the colon might switch over to the fermenting and cause the anaerobic breakdown of sugar into alcohol causes acidity and other gastric disorders.
