Expert
Chloroplasts are comprised by two membrane layers, the outer and inner membranes. Within the organelle the formative unit is termed as the granum, a coin-shaped structure which, piled with others grana, forms various structures termed as thylakoids. The thylakoids fill up the chloroplast and an intergrana membrane permeates the internal of the organelle.
