a) A good brick should have perfect shaped edges, well burnt in kilns, copper colored and without any cracks.

b) Bricks should not break when dropped from a height of about 1m.

c) Bricks have a low thermal conductivity and must be sound proof.

d) The minimum crushing strength of the bricks should be maintained at 3.5 N/mm² .

e) Bricks must be uniform and must not have voids.
