Parkinsons disease
What is Parkinson’s disease?
Expert
Parkinson’s disease is degenerative disease of nervous system in that the main manifestations are progressive motor disturbances, such as tremors of feet, hands and mandibles (or jaws) and walking and balance impairments. Parkinson’s disease is due to degeneration of dopaminergic motor neurons, that is, motor neurons which employ dopamine as a neurotransmitter, located in a particular region of brain, the mesencephalon. Such degeneration generates deficiency of the dopamine in nervous system. (Parkinson’s disease must not be confused with other causes of tremors, like the employ of some medicines.)
