Name the cells from which nervous tissue comprised? And how is the generic function of this tissue associated to the characteristics of main cell type which forms it?
Expert
The nervous tissue is made up of neurons and glial cells. The function of nervous tissue is to obtain and to transmit neural impulses (that is, reception and transmission of information). This function validates the characteristic morphology of the neurons, with membrane projections (or dendrites) to obtain information and an elongated membrane projection (that is, axon or nerve fiber) to transmit information at distance. In their turn, glial cells support the neurons and assist their work (at times acting as insulators).
