The 3rd Generation Partnership Project or 3GPP is defined as collaboration between the groups of telecommunications associations in order to form a globally applicable third-generation or 3G mobile phone system specification within the scope of International Mobile Telecommunications-2000 project of the International Telecommunication Union or ITU. 3GPP specifications are based upon the evolved Global System for Mobile Communications or GSM specifications. 3GPP standardization incorporates Radio, Core Network and the Service architecture.
