The endocrine glands which release the hormones in the menstrual cycle are the hypophysis (pituitary) and the ovaries. The hormones from adenohypophysis are FSH or follicle-stimulating hormone and LH or luteinizing hormone and hormones that are released from the ovaries are progesterone and estrogen.
