Expert
The easy answer is yes, you must give lots of examples from different aspects of your life. University experience certainly but also include situations from your early life in order to exhibit that competition is natural to you. Sporting performances are an obvious source here.
Show yourself that you are competitive on your own as well as within your team situation. You should also suggest that you are successful competitor. Failing which in competition will not look good.
How other people see you, you just bring it into your answer. Do they accept you as a competitive person and if so is that a bad or a good thing? Are you that kind of person as others look to when they are faced with a challenge?
