a) Arithmetic and Logic Unit (ALU):- The function of ALU is to carry out the arithmetic operations like subtraction and addition; logical operations like AND, OR and EX-OR.
b) Timing and control unit: - It produces timing signals for execution of the instruction and control of the peripheral devices.
c) Accumulator and General purpose registers: - The accumulator is defined as a register that consists of one of the operands and stores the results of most of the arithmetic and logical operations. General purpose registers stores the temporary data and intermediate results however the computer is doing the execution of a program.
