Cellular respiration and respiration meaning gas exchange
What is the basic difference between cellular respiration and respiration meaning gas exchange?
Expert
Respiration means gas exchange is the procedure in which an organism absorbs from the atmosphere gases essential for its cellular metabolism and expels gases that are products of this metabolism. The Cellular respiration (anaerobic or aerobic) is the chemical reaction in which organic molecules are degraded to form ATP molecules, the major energy source for the metabolism. Gas exchange is basic for cellular respiration as the supplying of certain reagents (oxygen, in aerobic cellular respiration) and the expelling of certain products (example: carbon dioxide) of this chemical reaction based on gas exchange.
