Living beings are made up of organic and inorganic substances. According to the complexity of their molecules how can each of such substances be categorized?

Inorganic substances, such as water, molecular oxygen, mineral salts, and carbon dioxide, are small molecules which are made up of few atoms. Organic substances, in common, such as fatty acids, glucose and proteins, are much more complicated molecules made up of sequences of carbons bound in carbon chains. The capacity of carbon to make chains is one of the major chemical facts which allowed the emergence of life on the planet.
