Advantages of Star Topology:
a) In comparison to the Bus topology, it provides far much better performance; signals don’t essentially get transmitted to all workstations. A sent signal arrives the intended destination after passing through 3-4 devices and 2-3 links. Network Performance depends upon the capacity of the central hub.
b) In star topology new nodes can be added easily without affecting the rest of the network. In the same way elements can also be eliminated easily.
c) Centralized management: It facilitating in monitoring the network.
d) One node or link failure doesn’t affect rest of the network. Simultaneously it is easy to detect the failure and troubleshoot it.
