RIP (abbreviated as routing information protocol) is a distance vector dynamic routing protocol. It is employed where there is minimum number of routers. Its maximum hop count is 15. It broadcast its whole routing information in every 30 seconds. This is a class full routing protocol. RIP version 2 is a free routing protocol.
