In a 3-4 pp. essay, compare one of the first four Harry Potter movies with the book on which it is based.
Please note that we are not asking you to write a movie review, or to address every way in which the film you choose adapts the relevant book.
What we do want you to do is address the film's interpretation of the book.
As you can't look at every way in which the movie interprets the relevant book in the space provided, we want you to zoom in on how the movie you choose addresses one of the following aspects of the book: the depiction of a major theme or issue, the depiction of a single character, orthe depiction of a relationship between two characters .
Your thesis will address the movie's intepretation of your theme or issue, character, or relationship between two characters.
Feel free, by the way, to link the depiction of a character or relationship to major themes or issues in the book on which your movie is based; just keep your discussion of that theme or issue focused on the character or character relationship.
Your Works Cited page should include both the print and film versions of the book you choose to address.
