Define, in your own words, emergency management, and briefly discuss the purpose why the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was created.
Research and list your FEMA regional office, and identify recent natural or technological disasters that you directly or indirectly experienced. With that in mind, discuss the following:
• The type of disaster
• The immediate and following impact of the disaster
• Which local and state government agencies responded to it
• What was the role and responsibility of the federal government and the type of federal activities provided to the impacted community and/or region?
