Class Project
Each student will be required to make a Paper/Presentation to be scheduled at the end of class. Each student will research a failed real life project and write a paper describing the failure. The paper should be focused on the topics covered in class and include the student's interpretation of what should have been done to prevent the failure. The paper submission will be no less than 6 pages in length and no more than 10 pages. (12 pitch, Times New Roman, 1 inch margins, single spaced). The basics of the paper will be presented in class. The written submission will be 70% and the presentation 30% of the grade for this assignment. The presentation will be between 10-12 mins in length.
Each project should cover, but is not limited to:
1. Why is my "real life" situation a project.
2. Background on the real life situation.
a. History
b. Participants
c. Actual Outcomes
3. Was the real life situation managed as a project?
4. Why did it fail?
5. Lessons Learned.
6. What would you have done differently?
Note: this is not an organizational pattern for your paper. This is a list of the minimum things it should cover.
