Discussion Post: Ethical & Legal Questions in the Health Care Industry
Often, there are not clear-cut answers to ethical and legal questions in the health care industry. Yet, as a health care practictioner your ability to handle situations within the medical setting will be expected and will greatly impact your professional life.
Discuss the following questions with your colleagues regarding professional conduct, law, and your own personal values:
o Why doesn't the health care industry have a set of clearly stated legal and ethical guidelines?
o What are the implications for health care?
o How does this affect the thought that "every person is responsible for his/her own actions"?
