Which left the mothers at home to do all of the jobs

Problem

During the war, the effects were similar for both the north and the south. Soldiers watched friends and family die in front of them, and some were betrayed by the other side. The women had to stay at home and provide for and take care of their families, since the majority of men and boys were off at war. After the war was over, the North had a quicker recovery than the south did. The north saw recovery and joy and a growing population, while the south still struggled with corruption and division. In the end, lives were lost and much land and property was destroyed on both sides of the warfront. All able bodied men were called out to fight, which left the mothers at home to do all of the jobs, cooking, cleaning, and working. The losses were high after the civil war, but now the benefits that America has gained from the sacrifices made are tremendous.
