Assignment 1- Demographics of Culture
For this first part of our research on different cultures, we should make ourselves aware of the demographics of that culture (see your culture assignment) in the U.S. So I want you to find an article or report that discusses and provides the demographics of that culture in the US and provide us all with information from that article that you think will provide your classmates' a clear understanding of the demographics. This seconds as a substantial "myth buster" because most people' s general understanding of how many people of different races and cultures are in our nation, and where they live is generally based on misconceptions.

Assignment 2- Help Seeking Traditions
MOVIE TIME!!! I want you to watch a movie from your culture. Finding he right one will be half the battle but it is important that it is authentic (not a spoof on the culture) and that it is set in the culture. Do not be afraid of foreign films, be a little uncomfortable and read subtitles if this gets you closer to the culture. In all movies someone must ask for help or support of some sort. How is that presented in the movie? What seeks to be a special characteristic of that cultures help-seeking traditions. Explain. Of course also tell us the name of the movie.
Assignment 3- History in the Journey
A group's/culture's journey to the US (or not) is an important aspect of their culture. It will be part of defining them and their perspective, so it will be critical for us to understand it. Critically find a video online that discusses the history of the journey (or not in the case of Native Americans). Provide a short introduction as to why you selected that particular video. Keep in mind that research includes critical selections from what you have found, so be very careful of just picking the first video you find. You should find several and select the one that you think provides the best information on the group's/culture's journey to the US (or not).

Assignment 4- psychobehavioral modality
So psychobehavioral modality is about the mode of activity that a particular culture prefers (doing, being, becoming). Find an article that sheds some light on that and write a short paragraph to discuss which mode that culture prefers. Then write a second paragraph to compare that mode of activity to your own culture. If the culture you are assigned is the same as your own- then please use this paragraph to provide examples of that in your culture (if you disagree, then write about that).

Assignment 5- Misconceptions
Find a short video on your culture that addresses the most common stereotypes and misconceptions of the culture? Make sure that it does not perpetuate the misconceptions but clears them up. Provide a sentence or two as an introduction to the video (so we know what we are about to watch).
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
