The questions below are based on numerous publications collectively comprising a comprehensive case study of Healthcare.gov -- the technology platform of a universal healthcare initiative popularly known as "Obamacare" from the Obama administration days. This initiative was launched and managed by the US Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), with independent contractors such as CGI doing the bulk of the actual work. Augment the following sources (all pdf files) with your own independent research on this subject (using both ABI Inform and regular search engines) to address these questions.
What lessons were learned from this project in regards to the notions of "dimensions of information systems" and "complementary assets" in the textbook?
Note: The questions that comprise group assignments WILL necessitate ACADEMIC RESEARCH, and a major factor in determining your group assignment grade will be the quality of your research. Groups will not be told which specific assignment questions call for research; they are expected to intelligently make that determination on their own.You are to research the company in the case, the industry or industries the company is a part of, and, **most importantly**, the concepts, contexts, and phenomena under scrutiny (for example, difficulties and challenges of implementing large-scale ERP systems in mid-sized organizations.) Such specific, targeted research will call for a good amount of time and effort, so groups are urged to start working right after they are assigned a case, given the short one-week deadline.
To conduct research for a group assignment, you are not to rely on regular Web-based search engines. Instead, you need to tap into ABI Inform, a repository of articles and papers published in business and economics journals.
To look up relevant articles in ABI/INFORM Global, you will need to thoughtfully formulate search keywords. A keyword may be used separately in a search or in combination with other keywords. It will likely take several search iterations to locate material that might be useful to your assigned case. After identifying and going over the relevant sources, be careful how you incorporate them in your write-up. While you may paraphrase extensively from multiple sources, do not reproduce entire sentences and paragraphs verbatim from any source--that is considered plagiarism, the worst kind of offense in the academic world! If you must directly quote a published work to make a point, do so sparingly, and use quotation marks and a formal reference.
The purpose of extraneous research is to gather independent, unbiased information from credible sources with no vested interests. Therefore, the expectation is that your written discussion incorporates as much material as possible from at least five papers published in scholarly journals (also known as peer-reviewed, blind-reviewed, or refereed journals). This requirement is over and above any reference material that may be provided to you as part of the assignment. Additionally, you may also include material from other sources such as vendors, or trade publications that aren't peer-reviewed, but be sure to vet all such material thoroughly for credibility. By the way, never, ever use Wikipedia as a formal reference source.
Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
1. The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
2. The response also include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
3. Also Include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
