What evidence is missing to substantiate the claims made on either side?
What are the underlying assumptions that relate to that missing evidence?
Are those assumptions valid and accurate?
Did the evidence presented come from credible and reliable sources? Was the source of the evidence an authority on the topic?
Finally, was the evidence presented clearly expressed?
