Scenario
You are a first-year graduate student. You are taking a graduate course on research and writing. In this homework, your professor has asked you to write the introduction section of a research paper for a research question/problem in which you are interested.
Instructions
Write the introduction section of a research paper for your professor. This section should:
1) Clearly identify the research question/problem.
2) Pique the reader's interest in your research paper.
3) Analyze why the research question/problem is important by reviewing studies that have addressed the question/problem. Summarize groups of studies, not necessarily individual ones. The studies that you cite should be recent, published in the last 5-10 years. Older studies may be cited if they have been widely referenced by others.
4) Evaluate the deficiencies/gaps in the studies.
5) Explain how your research paper will address the deficiencies/gaps of past studies and how it will contribute to the scholarly research.
6) Explain what you expect to find by performing research on this question.
7) What benefits will the findings have and on whom?
8) Establish the purpose and the thesis of your research paper.
Format your homework according to the following formatting requirements:
(1) The answer should be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides.
(2) The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the homework, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
(3) Also include a reference page. The Citations and references should follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
