Organizational Analysis & Design: resolving organizational issues through contextual design paper:

An Organizational Concern. In essence, you have all just written your own case studies for application of leadership and organizational behavior theories. Based on the knowledge in this course and previous course work, what are the new contexts you can create to inspire changes? Make sure to include the main tenets of the course. Here are some questions to consider as you're planning to make a difference:

• What are the ethical bargains of your organization? What has been the impact?

• Who are the stakeholders of these changes and what are their values?

• What systemic changes are required to make a sustainable difference?

• How can this context be created with minimal or no enforcement of behaviors?

• What are some potential consequences/impacts to people involved?

• How would you lead this change process, what organizational change principles would you apply to assure that your organization welcomes the new change?

• What kind of systemic metrics will you require to create a self-learning system that perpetuates ethical organizational behaviors?

Recommended outline (Also see sample paper as a template - located in the course materials area):
• Title page will list the company name, student's name, course name and number, instructor's name and date.

• Abstract

• Introduction.
o Background/Issues identification/Organizational Impact
o Define the organizational context from a management and leadership perspective (two separate perspectives)

• Knowledge application (Action plan with respective theories in ethics and leadership)
o Specify the action that needs to be taken (make sure these are tangible actions, and not pure theory) and their practical considerations. For each recommended action, consider getting management support to facilitate a smooth implementation.
o Action Plan (also provide a timeline - there can be some long term items; must have short term tasks within the next 30 days) including resources required. The action plan integrates basic project management skills that provide a structure for the implementation.
o Measurements (how will you establish return on investment, return on people, organizational health such as retention & absenteeism)
o Repeat this as needed for each recommendation.

• Conclusion (include your role moving forward)

• Reference page. (Minimum of 3 peer-reviewed citations within 2000-2005). Make sure you cite properly - do not plagiarize.

• Appendix:
o Interview notes, if any

This final paper should be able to stand on its own (i.e. so any executive from any company can read and understand it). All APA requirements are in place. Assume that you are the person in charge (one with the power to make the changes or making the presentation to the executive board). This is the core purpose of this entire course. Recommended Length: 1,200 -1,500 words (i.e. do not write a book; be concise)
