You are required to read the following case study via the link provided and respond to the questions that follow:
Public Electronic Payments. A Case Study of the Electronic Cash System in Ecuador.
Questions:
In this case study, an electronic cash payment method involving mobile payment systems, developed by the Central Bank of Ecuador, is described. You are required to discuss the following:
1. Critically assess three different types of electronic payment systems being utilized in your country and compare these with the method being described in the case study.
2. What are the characteristics of these different payment systems in your country?
3. What are the enablers and/or barriers to the development and/or utilization of online payment systems in your country?
4. The case study concludes that "The keys to success for the electronic money system are sustainable long-term incentives to all participants, interoperability, ease of use and trustworthiness in the system." You are required to take any one of these 4 factors and state why that particular factor is important.
