Well-shuffled deck of playing cards


Two cards are drawn from a well-shuffled deck of playing cards from which the spades and clubs have been removed, and are placed face down on a table. The cards are turned up one a time and the suit of each card is observed. Let X1 and X2 be defined as follows:

X1= 1 if the first card is a heart; 0 if the first card is not a heart

X2= 1 if the second card is a heart; 0 if the second card is not a heart

Further, put Y=X1+X2. Determine MX1, MX2, and MY. Is it true that Mx1+x2(t)= Mx1(t)Mx2(t)?
