Vibration levels for the product remaining at low magnitudes


A company crates its products for shipping as shown (base plate with two springs holding a crate- mass suspended in crate by single springs above and below). The base plate is mounted securely on a truck, and all vibration transmitted from the truck is assumed to be sinusoidal with varying frequencies. Experience indicates this method is satisfactory, with the vibration levels for the product remaining at low magnitudes. To cut costs, it is proposed to put two items (masses) in a larger crate (single springs above, below and between masses). Would you approve this proposal and why?
