The rise of China as a superpower has complicated U.S.-China relations to another degree. Before China was viewed as the worlds grocery store; now the U.S. has to contend with a growing and modernizing Chinese military. Furthermore, with their economic leverage and now rising superpower status is leading to China to assert itself on the political front as well.
