Read "The Empowerment Effort That Came Undone (by Lawrence R. Rothstein, Harvard Business Review, January-February 1995, pp. 20-26). Utilizing what you have learned from the assigned readings for this lesson, answer the following questions about the empowerment effort at SportsGear: Why do you think that George and Harry responded so differently to Martin's decision to implement an "empowerment campaign?" Discuss Martin's approach to empowering his employees and why it fell short. What would you have done differently to accomplish the same goal and why?
